Life, Happiness & Overall Health
Over the last year, I have been reminded about the following…
There are two kinds of people:
- Those who take action
- Those who are waiting for something before they take action
Waiting for something might mean that you never take action.
Only you can set the appropriate priorities for yourself, but remember…
If you prefer a sedentary lifestyle, know that you are making a choice not only for now, but for your future self.
There is nothing more important than taking care of your health. All else depends on that!
- Appreciate every day, no matter what, because we don’t know what will happen in the future.
- Keep in touch with family and friends.
- Take time to be quiet with yourself. It’s incredible what you will discover.
- Life is about change. Learn to accept that each new day is a mystery.
- Be grateful every day. There is always something good if you take the time to look and notice.
- Set an intention every day to make the most of that day.
Feel free to add to this list.
What I have learned:
- Imagining the future you want will help you get there. Do it often.
- Writing down your goals will cement them in your mind and make them easier to achieve.
- Perfection is an elusive concept. Accept “good enough.”
Here is the big one…
- The future of healthcare (or should I say disease prevention and good health) will change.
- Medical doctors will treat medical diseases and conditions. Alternative techniques will provide disease prevention.
What alternative techniques?
Here’s a list:
- Acupuncture
- Physical therapy
- Aromatherapy
- Meditation
- Breath work
- Spending time in nature
- Tai Chi
- Yoga
- Exercise and different movement techniques
- Massage
- Herbs and supplements
- Food as medicine
- Ayurvedic medicine
- Etc, etc
Imagine a day when you consult a practitioner that specializes in the techniques listed above. Then, only if you need surgery or prescription medication would you consult a medical doctor. After being treated by a medical doctor, you are referred back to the practitioners of alternative techniques.
Also, imagine a day when the techniques mentioned above are covered by insurance. Why? Because it is less expensive to prevent disease than to treat it.
Together, we can start now, if you haven’t already, because it is NEVER too late!
The question is, which one are you?
☐ Action taker?
☐ Waiting for something before taking action?
Bottom Line: The future is arriving faster than you think. Get a head start now!
